A Page for Each Book

The book club's page for a book, and the book's own page in your publication

Every book your publication deals with has two pages: one that belongs to the book club, and one that belongs to your publication. Readers reach the first from your book club page, and the second from the first.

What you say about a book

Your publication keeps one record for each book it deals with: its cover, its title and author, and a note of your own. You write the note and pick the cover once, and every place that shows the book uses them. In a book's entry in the Studio's Book club tab, Edit the book opens it. A book you add to two clubs, or use in a coverage, is the same record.

A book a reader recommends gets its record at once, but it stays out of your library until the book is accepted into the club.

The book club's page for a book

A click on a book in the book club page opens, at /bookclub/book/ and the entry's number, the club's page for it. It shows:

  • the cover, the title and the author;
  • where the club stands: Reading now, Coming up or Read together, with the reading dates;
  • how many readers it has;
  • your note on the book, and the club's review, reading plan and notes (see Complements);
  • the Discussion under the book;
  • About this book, a link to the book's own page.

The page tells search engines it is about a book, with its reviews.

The book's own page

The book's own page lives in your publication, not in the club. It shows your note, the Reviews you have published about the book, and Read in the book club: each club of your publication that reads it, with its dates and its readers, each linking to the club's page for the book.
