Your Book Club Page
Arrange your book club's page like any page of your site - presentation, books, suggestions, top readers and the club's feed
Your book club has a page of its own, at the address /bookclub of your
publication. It is a page like the others on your site: made of sections,
which you move, hide and add to. Book clubs that existed before this page
got it too.
What the page holds
The page has two columns. On a phone, the side column comes after the main one, so nothing is hidden.
- Your presentation, a text you write right on the page. It starts with your book club's name and description already written in. Change it like any text; it does not follow later changes to the club's name or description.
- The current book: the book whose reading dates include today.
- The upcoming books and the books read together, each in a row that scrolls sideways, with its edges faded when there is more to see.
- Suggest a book, the form readers use to recommend the next one (see Recommend a book and read along).
- Top readers, the members who take part most.
- The book club feed: its posts, three at first, then Show more opens the whole feed in a side window. In the section's settings, Show first chooses the latest posts or the most liked ones.
Arranging it
Open the page the way you open any page: in Studio, the Website tab, then the page in its Pages list (see Page editor). Move, hide or add sections as you would on any page. Press / or + to add one: the sections made for the club are grouped under Made for Book clubs.
The two columns themselves stay where they are: they cannot be moved, removed or duplicated, and a section cannot be dragged out of the page's frame.
Guides while you edit
Short guides sit between the sections while you edit, and readers never see them. They say what each part shows: that the current book is the one whose reading dates include today, that the books come from the Book club tab of Studio with Add a book, and where members take part.
The books themselves
The page shows the books you add in Studio, in the Book club tab. A click on a book opens its own page: see A page for each book.
