Wallet
Tracking your balance, transactions, and payouts
The Wallet, in your Revenue tab in Studio, is where everything readers pay you - tips, subscriptions, and one-time payments - comes together.
Balance
Your current balance reflects what you've earned and haven't been paid out yet.
Transactions
A full transaction history shows each payment individually - useful for reconciling what a specific reader paid, and when. Each entry breaks down the gross amount, Stripe's processing fee, and Peakub's platform fee, so you can see exactly how a payment became what landed in your Wallet.
Besides regular payments, a few other entry types can show up:
- Refund - a reader's payment was refunded
- Dispute - a reader disputed a charge with their bank (a chargeback)
- Refund reversed - a disputed charge was later won back on your behalf
Payouts
Payouts move money from your Wallet balance to your bank account. Before any payout can go out, you need to connect a payout account - Peakub uses Stripe to verify your identity and hold the details of where the money goes, set up separately in the Wallet's account configuration. You'll get an email once that setup is complete.
Peakub currently supports payouts to creators in the EU/EEA, the US, Canada, the UK, and Switzerland, each paid out through their own country's native banking rails.
Automatic and manual payouts
Once your payout account is set up, your balance pays out automatically on a regular schedule - your next scheduled date is shown in the Wallet. You can also request a payout manually at any time, as long as you have enough available balance.
The two work a little differently:
- Automatic payouts hold back recently-posted payments for a short settlement window, plus a small reserve as a buffer against refunds or disputes - so what goes out automatically is usually a bit less than your full balance.
- Manual payouts aren't held back this way - you can request up to your full available balance immediately.
Payout status
A payout is Submitted once requested, then Paid once it lands in your bank account - you'll get a confirmation email for each successful payout. If a payout can't go through, it shows as Failed with a reason and a Retry option.
A submitted payout can only be canceled in the short window before Stripe actually starts moving the money - once it's on its way, it can no longer be canceled.
Fees
Stripe's own processing fee is deducted first, then Peakub takes a platform fee (10% by default). What lands in your Wallet, and what's paid out, is always your earnings after both.
