Migrate from Mailchimp

Peakub has a free built-in migration tool for Mailchimp. Mailchimp is an audience/email tool rather than a publishing platform, so this one only ever brings across your subscriber list - there are no posts to import.

What you'll need

• Your API key, from Mailchimp account > Profile > Extras > API keys. The datacenter suffix at the end of the key (after the dash, e.g. -us21) is read from the key itself - no separate field needed for it.
• Your Audience ID, from Audience > Settings > Audience name and defaults > Audience ID.

What comes across

Once your credentials are in, we read your subscriber list directly through Mailchimp's API - no export file needed. If you also have posts to bring across, add them manually - see Manual setup.

Import steps

1. Start a new publication on Peakub and choose to migrate.
2. Paste your Mailchimp audience or account URL, or pick Mailchimp manually if it isn't detected automatically.
3. Enter your API key and Audience ID from the step above.
4. We start pulling in your subscribers. Watch progress from your publication's Studio.

Known limitations

• No posts - Mailchimp has none to import.
• Your API key is only ever used to read your subscriber list - we never publish anything without your say-so, and nothing else in your Mailchimp account is touched.
