Migration troubleshooting
Common issues when importing a publication into Peakub
My import is stuck on "Starting" or "Importing"
Large publications take longer, especially ones with a big subscriber list or years of posts. Leave the status card on your Studio dashboard open and check back later; there's no need to restart the import.
Some items show as "failed"
Failed items are retried automatically a few times on their own. If they're still failed after that, use the Retry button next to that resource, right after fixing whatever caused it (for example, uploading the export file a paywalled post needed). Not every non-match is actually a failure: hover a count to see whether it's partial (a paywalled post whose free preview came across, but not the full content), suppressed (an inactive or unsubscribed reader, imported but kept out of your audience), or skipped (content we don't import yet) - see Migration for exactly what each means.
My beehiiv, Steady, or Mailchimp import isn't finding anything
These platforms need credentials before we can see anything at all - unlike WordPress, Blogger, or an RSS feed, nothing is discovered from the URL alone. Double-check the API key (and Publication ID or Audience ID) against what your platform's settings currently show; a regenerated key stops working immediately even if the old one was entered correctly at the time.
My Substack paywalled posts only show the free preview
That's the partial state, not a failure - full content for a paywalled post only comes across from your export file. See Migrate from Substack for where to get it.
I don't see my podcast episodes
Podcast episodes aren't imported by any migration source yet - that's the skipped state, not something specific to your platform. Add them directly on Peakub once your publication is set up.
My custom domain didn't come across automatically
Domain transfer isn't part of the import itself - it's a manual step afterward. See Migration's "Transfer your custom domain" section.
WordPress or Blogger brought over my posts, but not subscribers
Both only bring across public posts - subscriber lists aren't supported for either. Add subscribers by hand afterward; see Manual setup.
Still stuck
Use the in-app help panel from your Studio - migration issues are often specific to your source platform's current state, and a real person can look at your actual import.
