Following vs. subscribing - they're not the same thing

Following a publication or club adds it to your feed - that's it, nothing arrives in your inbox. Subscribing additionally gets you new posts by email. You can do either without the other: follow a dozen publications and only subscribe to the two you don't want to miss.

You don't need an account to subscribe: an email address is enough. See Subscribing and paying with an email.

Your Inbox

What publications send you, an article, a zine, a chapter or a page, waits in your Inbox, the first tab of Conversations, with a dot for what is new, updated or answered. You can answer a piece from there, read it, or clear it. See Your Inbox and Answer a piece.

Turning notifications down (or up)

What you're alerted about, and where - in-app, email, or both - is covered in Community. Nothing there is all-or-nothing either.

Unsubscribing from one publication's emails

Every email has an unsubscribe link, or you can do it from your account settings. Either way, it only stops that one publication's emails - your account, and everything else you follow, is untouched.

Reporting, blocking and muting

The ... menu on a post, a comment, a person or a publication lets you report it, block it or mute it. If something of yours is held, hidden or removed, you can see why and contest it. See Report, block and mute and Notices, appeals and your reports.
