Like and comment counts

Show how many likes and comments a piece has beside its reactions, on your publication's pages

Under each piece, readers see the reactions: like, comment and the rest. By default no number sits beside them. You can show two: how many people liked the piece, and how many comments it has.

Turning it on

Open your publication's Website settings, choose the Website tab and find Comments and activity. Switch on Show like and comment counts. Its note reads "Beside the reactions under each piece, on its pages." Press Save. It is off until you switch it on.

What is counted

  • Likes count the likes of that piece itself. A like on one of its passages isn't added to it.
  • Comments count the whole thread under the piece, replies included.

A number appears only once it is above zero, so a new piece shows none. Saves, reposts and shares are never counted: a save is private, and the others are not counted reliably.

Where readers see them

On your publication's own pages only: your site, your articles, and the pieces shown there. The same piece seen elsewhere on Peakub shows no number. Switching the setting off removes them everywhere, at once.
